What is CPU ?

CPU which stands for Central Processing Unit

it  a is often referred to as the "brain" of a computer.

It is one of the most critical components of a computer system and is responsible for executing instructions and performing calculations for a wide range of tasks.

The CPU interprets and carries out the instructions provided by computer programs and the operating system.

CPUs come in various forms, including those for desktop and laptop computers, servers, smartphones, and embedded systems.

The choice of CPU affects the overall performance and capabilities of a computing device.

Execution of Instructions:

The CPU is designed to execute a set of instructions, which are typically represented in machine code or assembly language.

These instructions include tasks like arithmetic and logic operations, data manipulation, and control flow instructions.

Arithmetic and Logic Unit (ALU):

The ALU is a fundamental part of the CPU that performs arithmetic operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) and logic operations (comparisons, boolean operations) as required by the instructions.

Control Unit:

It manages the fetch-decode-execute cycle, which is the fundamental process of fetching an instruction, decoding it, and executing it.
